The Ez-Fret will allow you to fret each string of your guitar, up to the third fret, using a button rather than pressing the string down with your finger. This will eliminate finger pain and string buzzing. There are eighteen buttons, three for each of the six strings. The sound of an Ez fretted string will be exactly the same as a finger fretted string. Any chord diagrams that you have may be used with the Ez-Fret. Fingering diagrams for the three basic chords of the guitar keys C, D, E, G and A are included.
The Ez Fret is attached securely with rubber bands on the neck of your guitar over the first three frets. It is supported over the fretboard by three legs that have rubber caps on the ends to protect your guitar. The two legs at the front of the Ez-Fret will stand between strings 1 and 2 and strings 5 and 6. It is important that the legs do not interfere with these vibrating strings. Therefore, you must make two measurements on your guitar to be sure that the Ez-Fret will fit properly: First, the length of vibrating string length should be about 25 inches. Second, the distance between strings 1 and 6 directly above the third fret should be one and a half inches to one and five eights inches.
In order for the Ez-Fret to perform as advertised, it must be installed properly. After you have made the measurements described above, you will adjust the height of the Ez-Fret plate over your fretboard. You do this by adjusting the length of the three supporting legs with a small Phillips head screwdriver. The goal is to get the Ez-Fret as near to the vibrating strings as possible, without contacting the strings at all. When the Ez-Fret is properly installed, and no buttons are depressed, the Ez-Fret will have no effect whatsoever on the vibrating strings. Once you have fitted the Ez-Fret to your guitar, it can be removed and replaced quickly and easily.
